Buchan Offshore Wind Announces Number of Senior Appointments and Expansion of Project Team
Buchan Offshore Wind, the 1GW floating offshore wind project 75km to the northeast of Fraserburgh, has announced a number of new appointments and an expansion of the project team and as it moves towards the latter stages of project design and consenting.
Brian Horne will be taking on the role of Technical and Engineering Director in March on the retirement of the current postholder Andrew Donaldson. Brian joins the team from leading industry consultancy Kent, where he was Technical Director – Offshore Wind. He has previously held leadership roles in the development and delivery of major offshore wind projects working for Red Rock Power and SSE.
Yohashini Chandramohan has been appointed to the new role of Project Engineer, having been part of the team responsible for the construction of Neart na Gaoithe offshore wind farm in the Firth of Forth.
Kevin Brunton and Ed Unwin have joined the team as Lead Civil Engineer and Lead Offshore Engineer, respectively, after periods on secondment to the project. Kevin spent close to 30 years at renowned global engineering consultancy Arup delivering major civil engineering projects from concept to construction, with Ed having led Kent’s floating offshore wind team since April 2022.
In addition, the project is actively recruiting for a Supply Chain and Procurement Lead, Project Controls Lead and a new position of Stakeholder Communications and Policy Lead.
