Buchan Offshore Wind has appointed experienced corporate communications professional Corrinne Gallagher as the company’s Head of Stakeholder, Communications and Policy.

In this key role, Corrinne will work closely with the integrated consenting, commercial, technical and wide team to ensure the project is engaging effectively with the many stakeholders who are central to the project’s success – from the local community in Peterhead to the supply chain, schools and colleges, policymakers and politicians at all levels.

Corrinne is ideally suited to the role, with more than 20 years’ experience in senior stakeholder positions in the UK and Scottish governments, its agencies and most recently in the offshore wind industry.

Commenting on the role, Corrinne says:

“2026 will be a critical year for the floating offshore wind sector and for Buchan Offshore Wind in particular, as Scottish Ministers and Aberdeenshire Council consider our applications for offshore consent and onshore planning.

“Buchan Offshore Wind is at the forefront of commercial scale floating offshore wind and has the potential to be pivotal for the Scottish offshore wind supply chain, with our commitment to manufacture our floating foundations here in Scotland. This will catalyse investment in manufacturing capacity in the north of Scotland, creating 2,900 jobs during construction and adding more than £2 billion to the Scottish economy over the wind farm’s lifetime.

“My role is to ensure we are fully engaged with all stakeholders – from the local community to local and national government, and everyone in between – to ensure all parties understand the long term benefits the project will bring, and to work together to realise these benefits locally and across Scotland.

“I am delighted to be on board this pioneering project at such an exciting and important time,” Corrinne concludes.
