The Buchan Offshore Wind Beach Clean

The Buchan Offshore Wind Beach Clean

Our Buchan Offshore Wind Team recently travelled to Rattray Head near St Fergus on the Aberdeenshire coast to clean a local beach.

At Buchan Offshore Wind we don’t just focus on creating clean energy with our floating wind project - we also clean up our environment! That is why the team ventured out to the Aberdeenshire coast to collect litter, such as rope, tyres, and fishing nets, that was either left behind or swept ashore - being rewarded with glorious sunshine for it!

The beach clean was organised by Turning the Plastic Tide, and the Buchan Offshore Wind Team were joined by East Grampian Coast Parntership, Balfour Beatty, as well as SSE.

It is important to avoid plastic pollution at beaches as much as we can, as once plastic is in the water, the elements break it down into tiny particles. These microplastics can then easily be transported all across the world, and have even be found in human bloodstreams!

So, why don’t you join a beach clean, just like our Buchan Offshore Wind Team, and have a fun day out, all whilst having a positive impact on the environment?
